Linnea Romney is Technical Theater Instructor for Costuming. Mrs. Romney graduated from Iowa State University with her degree in Textiles & Clothing Design. Then graduated from the London College of Fashion; where she studied International design and historic costumes. Mrs. Romney designed at Lands' End, and Old Navy. After moving to the east coast, Mrs Romney costumed plays at Deerfield Academy. Upon moving to Kentucky in the summer of 2019, Mrs. Romney costumed plays for the Oldham County Schools Arts Center. She is excited to join the Creative and Performing Arts Academy faculty, and looks forward to seeing the numerous abilities the students bring to class, & see those skills flourish as they engage in the program and learn all facets of Technical Theater.
On a personal note, Mrs Romney would have been elated in high school for a program like CAPAA! She spent hours drawing the various types of cuffs, sewing techniques for pattern pieces, and fashion illustration sketches. She poured designs into a giant notebook she carried everywhere. Sound like you? Sound like your student? That passion in high school led to being Associate Designer at Lands' End and seamlessly transitioning to the Costuming Design profession. Both of which can be dedicatedly sought for, even beginning at the high school level. She is excited to develop, spark, and guide this generation to their own Theater & Design profession.
