Katherine Reardon Mercier
Katherine Reardon Mercier is a double bassist and general music teacher from Madison, Alabama. She loves teaching students of all ages through a variety of programs and private lessons at OCSAC. She directs the string program at Oldham County Middle school. She has been a guest conductor at the Tennessee Valley Music Festival. She taught elementary music for three years at Crestwood Elementary. She received her Bachelors of Music in Music Education emphasis in Strings from the University of Louisville. She has also completed the International Course at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria and has her Orff Schulwerk Certification through the University of Kentucky, where completed her Masters Degree in Music Education. She was recently published in the Orff Echo. She has performed in programs in Canada, Costa Rica, and the United States. In her free time Katherine enjoys cooking, crocheting, visual arts, and reading a good book while enjoying a nice cup of tea!
