The Arts Center

Oldham County Schools Arts Center

Opened in 2004 as an innovative Center for Arts Education with a mission to provide cultural opportunities that nurture Oldham County School students and the community at large. The Arts Center is home to the School For The Arts, Arts Academy, Performance Series, Adult and Community Education Program, and the Oldham County Resource Center. The Arts Center is also home to many community arts organizations, artist residencies, and other partnerships - creating a hub for specialized instruction that capitalizes on the wealth of talent and knowledge coming from Oldham County.

The Arts Center's Performance Hall, Music Studios, Dance Studios, Art Studio, Ceramics Studio and Anita Davis Art Gallery all buzz with energy as students, community groups, artists, teachers and the public create art and enjoy learning.

Classrooms bustle with acitivity beginning as early as 7 a.m. with our School for the Arts and its courses which are accredited by the school district. This energy continues throughout the day with Arts Academy's community classes for children and adults in music, dance, art, and theatre.

In addition to arts education, there are many scheduled events and concerts that span the entire year - including our highly acclaimed Performance Series. This series includes the region's top jazz, classical, pop, and folk artists, dance troupes, and theatre professionals. The Perfomance Series offers a unique opportunity for Oldham County and Greater Louisville arts lovers to experience world-class entertainment in a relaxed and convenient setting. Community members also have the chance to view some of the finest regional works in the Anita Davis Art Gallery.

You may also register for credit and non-credit courses through the Adult and Community Education programs, including GED, computer, workplace training and family literacy. And visit the popular Resource Center to create educational materials for classroom, community, or personal projects.
