The dance program runs September-May with open enrollment through the end of January.
Students participate in the Spring Dance Recital Saturday, June . Additional costume fees apply.
Dance classes are one hour per week, unless otherwise noted. Monthly Tuition: $60 for a 60 minute per week class, $90 for a 90 minute per week class
Dance registration is now closed. Enrollment will open for Fall 2023 Dance Classes in late July.
Weekly Summer Dance classes are offered June 13th-August 5th. Classes will be posted under Summer Programs.
Dance classes are offered for ages 3-adult.
The Arts Center welcomes Lane Napper for Master Dance and Acting Workshops!
We are excited to announce a special guest we are having January 10th &11th, LANE NAPPER.
Lane comes to us with an exciting resume. Many of you will know him from ICARLY or VICTORIOUS. Lane is also an accomplished dancer, teacher, and choreographer.
LANE NAPPER'S ACTING WORKSHOP: In this Workshop you will learn the proper techniques and protocol for working in this sometimes overwhelming and scary industry. Get the tools you need to stay ahead. Get the information you need to stay relaxed. Lane’s teaching is based on truth and experience. You will also be schooled on improvisational work, movement, pace, timing, and auditioning. All work will be done in a relaxed, fun, environment.
YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF THE TIME IN THIS CLASS LAUGHING AND LEARNING!!!!
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced actor, let Lane’s techniques help you become the performer you’ve always wanted to be.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10th: MASTER CLASS: Open Dance Class: Ages 10 and up, 4:30-6pm, $35
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11th:
ACTING WORKSHOP: Ages 8-12, 10am-12pm, $75
ACTING WORKSHOP: Ages 13 &Up, 3:15-5:15pm, $75

Pre-Ballet/Tap Ages 3-4, 1 hour
These classes are designed as an introduction to dance for preschool age students. Students will learn basic feet and arm positions and basic tap steps, and they will play movement games as a fun way to solidify dance fundamentals.

Primary Ballet/Tap Ages 5/6, 1 hour
Each class will introduce proper ballet and tap technique and build upon previously learned material to further students’ dance education. Classes are available for 5&6’s and are appropriate for new and continuing students.

Teen Tap Ages 13 & up, 1 hour
Teen students will have concentrated focus on tap dancing technique, style & skills during this one-hour class.
Teen Jazz Ages 13 & up, 60 minutes-Teen students will have concentrated focus on jazz dancing technique, style& skills during this one hour class.
Youth Ballet/Tap/Jazz
Young students may continue their ballet and tap training and begin to incorporate jazz technique in one of these classes. Intermediate classes are by placement only.

Musical Theatre Dance
Musical theatre dance classes are designed to complement the OC Youth Theatre program and offer an opportunity for theatre students to enhance their dance training for the stage. Classes incorporate musical theatre jazz and tap.
Middle School, Grades 6 - 8, TBA
High School, Grades 9 - 12, 1 hour, TBA
Acro I (Grades 1-5) This is the first level for the dancer who wants to learn acrobatic skills. From forward rolls to handsprings this class is a great place to start learning how to tumble!

Acro II (Grades 5 & up) This is our second level of acrobatic and is designed for the student who has mastered the basics skills. Students are working on forward and backward tumbling as well as well as side, front, and back aerials.

Adult Jazz & Tap (Ages 14 & up), each class is 1 hour per week
These are fun, open classes for adults of all ages who are looking to freshen up their dance skills and get some exercise. Classes are appropriate for beginners and more experienced dancers as instructors will work with students to progress at their own pace. Teens may also be admitted with permission from the instructor.

OCPT Performance Troupe
The Oldham County Performance Troupe is comprised of students ages 10-18. This group is unique in that these courses are designed to prepare students to become “triple threats” on the collegiate and/or professional level. OCPT students take classes in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, and acrobatics. Students are selected through an annual audition process held in August. The schedule for our OCPT students is a serious commitment due to the intense focus of the program.
