Visual Art Classes

Spend a creative morning with your loved ones making meaningful gifts and keepsakes together! These hands-on clay workshops are perfect for all ages and skill levels. You’ll be guided through the process by an instructor, and all tools and materials are provided—just bring your imagination!

Finished pieces will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup in 1–2 weeks.
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Discover the joy of pottery in this 2-hour, beginner-friendly wheel workshop! You’ll learn how to center clay on the wheel and throw your own functional pottery pieces. Each piece will be glazed and kiln-fired to create beautiful, food-safe dinnerware.

Clay During the Day (Grades K-12) 

Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing in this fun and inspiring 10-week ceramics class! Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned young potter, Clay During the Day is the perfect place to throw, build, and sculpt your own ceramic masterpieces.

In our fully equipped ceramics studio with six pottery wheels, a slab roller, extruder, and a rainbow of Cone 6 glazes, you'll explore both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Beginners will learn the basics like centering clay and throwing mugs, bowls, and plates, while more experienced students will level up their skills with personalized instruction and new techniques. We'll also dive into hand building methods like pinch, coil, and slab construction, plus learn cool ways to decorate, glaze, and fire your finished pieces.

Come create functional and sculptural works of art in a welcoming and creative environment. We use Cone 6 clay and glazes that are food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.

Youth Ceramics - Make a mess, make a masterpiece!  

Kids and teens will dive hands-first into the world of clay, creating both functional and sculptural works of art. Whether they’re new to ceramics or already have some experience, every student gets personalized guidance and plenty of time on the wheel.
From mugs and bowls to imaginative creatures and creative masterpieces, students will learn wheel throwing and hand building techniques using food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe Cone 6 clay and glazes. No experience needed, just creativity and curiosity!

Adult Ceramics (ages 18+) 
Whether you’re a total beginner or a returning artist, this class is for you! Discover the art of ceramics in a supportive, well-equipped studio environment. This 10-week course is open to adults of all ages and experience levels, from first-time beginners to seasoned potters. Students will learn the fundamentals of both wheel throwing and hand building, using Cone 6 clay and glazes that are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
Beginners will receive step-by-step instruction to build foundational skills, while more advanced students will benefit from individualized guidance to further develop their technique and creativity. All materials are included, along with access to open studio time for additional practice and exploration. Four class time options available.

10 weeks, Classes begin March 4, 5, 10, 11 & 18 (Some start dates have been delayed due to Winter Quarter snow make-up days).

Unwind, explore, and get creative in this class designed for both beginners and experienced artists! This class blends foundational drawing skills with the expressive, fluid beauty of watercolor. Students will practice sketching from observation, learning about line, value, and composition, and then bring their drawings to life with watercolor techniques such as washes, layering, and color mixing.

Expect a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere where experimentation is welcome and perfection is not required. Whether you're picking up a pencil and brush for the first time or looking to refresh your skills, this class is a chance to slow down, build confidence, and enjoy the creative process.

Illustrations and Foundations (Grades 6-12)

Love to draw? Curious about illustration techniques? Illustrations and Foundations is the perfect place to build your skills, explore new materials, and develop your own unique artistic voice.
In this 10-week class, students will dive into the core principles of drawing and illustration while experimenting with a wide range of media from pencils and pens to ink, markers, and more. Whether you’re into realistic portraits, stylized cartoons, or bold abstract work, this class will help you refine your technique and grow as an artist.

Drawing: Sketch & Story (Gr. 4-8)

In this class, students will create one-of-a-king illustrated journals. Using drawing and story prompts, students will turn ideas, memories, and imaginative tales into creative pages filled with illustrations. This class encourages creativity, reflection, and imagination in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for students who love to draw, write, or dream up stories and want a creative space to bring their ideas to life, one page at a time!

Mythical Sculptures (Gr. 4-8)

In this imaginative class, students will dive into the world of mythical creatues and bring legends to life! From dragons and unicorns to griffins, sea monsters and more, we will transform their ideas into three-dimensional works of art.

Students will learn basic scultpure techniques using mixed media as they design, build and add texture and detail to their creatures. Along the way, they'll explore storytelling through art, problem-solving in 3D, and the creative process from sketch to finished sculpture. Perfect for students who love fantasy and letting their imaginations run wild!

Mixed Media Art (Gr. K-5)

Get ready to mix it up! In this class, students will explore art that combines all kinds of materials in creative and surprising ways. From paint, markers, and collage to textured papers, found objects, and more, students will learn how artists layer materials to create exciting, one-of-a-kind artwork. 

Each project encourages experimentation, imagination, and hands-on discovery as students learn about color, texture, shape and composition. Perfect for curious creators who love to try new things, get a little messy, and turn everyday materials into amzing works of art!

Mini Masterpieces (Gr. K-5)

Get ready to think big while creating small! In this class, elementary students will explore the work of famous master artists from art history and around the world. Students will learn about different artists and discover what made their style unique. From bold colors, playful shapes, expressive lines, or imaginative ideas, students will create their own mini artwork inspired by that style. This hands-on class encourages creativity, curiosity, and confidence using a variety of materials such as drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media. Perfect for budding artists who love to experiment, imagine, and create their own masterpieces.
