Calling all brave heroes and magical princesses! Get ready for an art-filled adventure where creativity meets fantasy. In this enchanting camp, we’ll paint, draw, and create artwork inspired by your favorite characters, from courageous warriors to royal dreamers! Along the way, campers will explore colors, shapes, and textures while learning fun art techniques to bring their imagination to life. Whether you're designing your own superhero emblem, crafting a fairytale castle, or painting a magical landscape, every project will be a new artistic quest! Get ready to create, dream, and have a royally fun time in this week of fantasy, fun, and creativity!

Little Disney Dance Camp (Grades K-2), Week 2: June 16-20, 9:00am-12:00pm
In this fun camp, young aspiring dancers will spend the week learning different dance styles like Ballet, Jazz, Creative Dance, and Tumbling, all to the tune of Disney songs they know and love! They’ll even make a couple crafts during break time. This is the perfect camp for young kids who want to learn the basics and get started in dance, or those who just love Disney and moving their bodies to get their energy out! Families are invited to a performance on the final day of camp! Ballet shoes are recommended for this camp.

Embark on a wild artistic adventure in our Animal Art camp, where your favorite stuffed animal becomes your creative muse! Each day, campers will bring their cherished plush companions to inspire a variety of art projects centered around the animal kingdom. From painting and drawing to crafting jewelry and masks, you'll explore different mediums and techniques to celebrate the creatures you love. Mini Fairy Tale Theatre (Grades K-2), Week 3: June 23-27, 9:00am-12:00pm
Disney princesses, fairytale villains, or even a character from your favorite TV show…In this camp, each student chooses the character they want to play! The instructor will take each character and put them all together in an original play, resulting in a wacky, hilarious, mash-up adventure to perform for family and friends at the end of the week! This camp is specifically for young actors. If they are still learning to read and write but want to join in on the fun, this is the perfect place to get started! (Registration closes early to allow time for script-writing).

In this hands-on camp, young artists will explore clay by hand-building, trying out the potter’s wheel to create unique and functional works of art—from cups and mugs to bowls and plates. Campers will grow their skills, experiment with different techniques, and have loads of fun getting their hands messy! Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! All pottery will be fired and ready for pickup at the Arts Center two weeks after camp. Let’s get muddy and make a masterpiece!

Songs & Sweets Musical Revue (Grades K-2), Week 5: July 7-11, 9:00am-12:00pm
Students will dance and sing to sugary candy-themed songs from various musicals and perform their “candy creation” at the end of the week for friends and family. This camp is a great way to start young performers in musical theater!

Mini Masterpieces 2 (Grades K-5), Week 6: July 14-18, 9:00am-12:00pm
Calling all young artists! Get ready to paint, draw, and create in this exciting summer camp where we’ll dive into the world of legendary artists like Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso! We’ll explore master painters and bring their techniques to life with fun, hands-on projects. From dreamy landscapes, to still-life & colorful portraits, campers will experiment with brushstrokes, textures, and colors to craft their own mini masterpieces. Using painting, drawing, and mixed media, young artists will stretch their imaginations and discover the joy of creative expression. (Projects in Mini Masterpieces 1 & 2 will be different. Students are welcome to take both camps)!

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar follows all of your favorite friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Week concludes with a performance for family and friends.

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! Pack your imagination and get ready for an art-filled journey across the continents! In this exciting camp, students in grades 1-5 will explore a new part of the world each day, discovering its art, music, and animals through creative hands-on projects. From Japanese kites soaring in the sky to Mexican piñatas bursting with color and West African drums ready to play, campers will bring cultures to life with unique and exciting crafts. As they paint, build, and create, they'll learn about the traditions and stories behind each masterpiece.

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

LaPS: Leadership Strings Summer Intensive (ages 8-18), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 10am-2pm
Students will receive intensive training in: Audition preparation, solo, chamber music, and chamber orchestra performance.Masterclasses and student performances will be offered daily. All ages of string students accepted. Recommendation is for students to be Suzuki book 5 level or higher and to have a private teacher recommendation. Scholarship applications accepted. OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

OCSAC String Camp 2025 (ages 5-18), Week 7: July 21-25, 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

We’ve all seen those classic comedic dramas with the dastardly mustachioed villain tying a woman to the train tracks...Or the sheriff putting his gunslinging to the test at high noon! What happens when the characters in a comedy believe they’re in a drama? From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

2D Animation Studio 2 (Gr. 6-12), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 9am-12pm
Dive into the exciting world of pottery! In this hands-on camp, young artists will explore clay by hand-building and trying out the potter’s wheel to create unique and functional works of art—from cups and mugs to bowls and plates. Campers will grow their skills, experiment with different techniques, and have loads of fun getting their hands messy! Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! Led by Arts Center faculty in a friendly atmosphere where students play in a band, learn and write songs, design their own promotional materials, and perform in an All Camp Jam Concert on the final day.

LaPS: Leadership Strings Summer Intensive (ages 8-18), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 10am-2pm
Students will receive intensive training in: Audition preparation, solo, chamber music, and chamber orchestra performance. Masterclasses and student performances will be offered daily. All ages of string students accepted. Recommendation is for students to be Suzuki book 5 level or higher and to have a private teacher recommendation. Scholarship applications accepted. In addition to OCSAC Strings Faculty, students will have the opportunity to learn from guest artists from the Louisville Orchestra and NouLou Chamber Players

This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

NEW! In this camp, students will learn the ins-and-outs of how to prepare for theatre auditions. Lessons include: how to properly research a play and its characters, identifying their own personal character “niche”, how to find (or write!) great monologues, general audition practices, leaning into their strong suits in theatre, mock auditions, and more!

Improvisation is a crucial skill to have in live theatre performance. You never know when a prop will disappear, or someone misses a cue! It’s unplanned moments like these that put an actor’s improvisational ability to the test. In this engaging summer camp, students will learn new improv games each day, and act out hilarious scenarios and madcap characters! They will also learn the fundamentals that make an improv scene interesting and effective. And of course, this camp will conclude with a live improv performance, complete with audience suggestions!

Show-in-a-Week: Melodrama Mayhem (Gr. 7-12), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 9am-4pm
We’ve all seen those classic comedic dramas with the dastardly mustachioed villain tying a woman to the train tracks...Or the sheriff putting his gunslinging to the test at high noon! What happens when the characters in a comedy believe they’re in a drama? From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

2D Animation Studio 2 (Gr. 6-12), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 9am-12pm
Dive into the exciting world of pottery! In this hands-on camp, young artists will explore clay by hand-building and trying out the potter’s wheel to create unique and functional works of art—from cups and mugs to bowls and plates. Campers will grow their skills, experiment with different techniques, and have loads of fun getting their hands messy! Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! All pottery will be fired and ready for pickup at the Arts Center two weeks after camp. Let’s get muddy and make a masterpiece!

Rock Band Camp (ages 8-18), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 1:00-4pm
Rock instruments, vocals, songwriting, album covers, poster and t-shirt design! An action-packed week for the budding "rocker." No previous experience necessary. Bring your own guitar or bass or we provide keyboard or drums. Led by Arts Center faculty in a friendly atmosphere where students play in a band, learn and write songs, design their own promotional materials, and perform in an All Camp Jam Concert on the final day.

Teen Potters 2 (Gr. 6-12), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 1:00-4pm
Discover the art of pottery in our camp designed for students in grades 6-12! This engaging camp offers a hands-on experience where participants will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. Throughout the week, campers will create functional and artistic pieces, exploring their creativity under the guidance of experienced instructors. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience, this camp provides a supportive environment to develop your skills and express your artistic vision. All materials, tools, and firing are provided, and participants should wear clothes that can get messy. Join us for a week of creativity, learning, and fun! (Each unique work of art is functional and food safe: dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe. All pieces will be fired and available for pick up two weeks after the class.)

LaPS: Leadership Strings Summer Intensive (ages 8-18), Week 8: July 28-August 1, 10am-2pm
Students will receive intensive training in: Audition preparation, solo, chamber music, and chamber orchestra performance. Masterclasses and student performances will be offered daily. All ages of string students accepted. Recommendation is for students to be Suzuki book 5 level or higher and to have a private teacher recommendation. Scholarship applications accepted. (Contact the office to request an application).
In addition to OCSAC Strings Faculty, students will have the opportunity to learn from guest artists from the Louisville Orchestra and NouLou Chamber Players
*Students who register for both strings camps (July 21-Aug. 1) will receive a discount for the 2-week combination. The Strings camp can help prepare students for performances at the Leadership camp the following week.
