Week 1 Full Day Camps
Show in a Week: Murder Mystery Play (Gr. 6-9), 9:00am-4:00pm
Mystery, murder, and mayhem await you in this week-long theatre production! During the week, students will audition for roles and be cast in a full-length mystery play! The play will be selected based on the number of students registered, guaranteeing everyone has a good role. Will you be a detective, an innocent bystander, a suspect, or perhaps the villain? Join us for this exciting show-in-a-week, which will conclude with a thrilling performance on the final day of camp!

Show in a Week: Madagascar, Kids (Gr. 2-5), 9:00am-4:00pm
Join Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip hippo, and of course, those hilarioius, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion pictures, Madagascar follows all of your favorite friends as they escape from their home in New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar. The week will conclude with a performance for family and friends.

Ever dreamed of creating your own animated characters and stories? In this exciting 2D Animation summer camp, you’ll learn the skills to bring drawings to life. You will explore frame-by-frame animation, character design, movement, and storytelling. From bouncing balls to expressive characters, you'll create fun, dynamic animations while learning the principles of motion. Do you love famous fairy tale stories like The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf and Hansel and Gretel? Then join us for a fantastic week of acting out scenes from a handful of classic tales! Students will grow in their acting ability and have a great time doing it. And of course, there will be a performance on the final day of camp to showcase their "storybook scenes."

Bluegrass Music Camp (ages 8-18) 1:00-4:00pm
Campers may bring their guitar, mandolin, fiddle/violin, banjo or string bass, to learn the basics of Bluegrass and American/Irish folk music and group playing. Campers will delve into this incredible summer experience with experienced teachers in a relaxed and fun environment. The week will conclude with a concert for family and friends! *All ages are welcome, but 6 months study on chosen instrument is recommended. (Instruments not provided; please bring your own).

Mastering the Canvas: Painting Camp (Gr. 6-12), 1:00-4:00pm
Unleash your creativity and dive into the world of painting! You’ll learn how to mix colors like a pro, experiment with different brushes and textures, and explore the unique qualities of watercolor, gouache, and acrylics. Along the way, campers will explore colors, shapes, and textures while learning fun art techniques to bring their imagination to life. Junior Musical Theatre Workshop (Grades 6-8), 1:00-4:00pm
This camp has a bit of everything! Each student will work on and perform a one-minute cut of a solo piece, a group musical theatre number, and a few scenes, all from popular Broadway musicals. With everything they learn throughout the week, students will gain confidence in their presence on stage. Week concludes with a performance for family and friends.

Week 2 AM Camps
Little Disney Dance Camp (Gr. K-2), 9:00am-12:00pm
In this fun camp, young aspiring dancers will spend the week learning different dance styles like Ballet, Jazz, Creative Dance, and Tumbling, all to the tune of Disney songs they know and love! They’ll even make a couple crafts during break time. This is the perfect camp for young kids who want to learn the basics and get started in dance, or those who just love Disney and moving their bodies to get their energy out! Families are invited to a performance on the final day of camp! Ballet shoes are recommended for this camp.

Ready to make your mark on the arts center? In this exciting mural camp, students will work together to design and paint a large-scale masterpiece that will become a permanent part of the community! Throughout the week, you’ll explore mural design, composition, and painting techniques, learning how to take an idea from sketch to larger-than-life creation. Working side by side, you’ll collaborate on a unique vision, blending creativity and teamwork to bring the mural to life.

Mini Masterpieces 1 (Grades 1-5), 9:00am-12:00pm
Calling all young artists! Get ready to paint, draw, and create in this exciting summer camp where we’ll dive into the world of legendary artists like Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso! We’ll explore master painters and bring their techniques to life with fun, hands-on projects. From dreamy landscapes, to still-life & colorful portraits, campers will experiment with brushstrokes, textures, and colors to craft their own mini masterpieces. Using painting, drawing, and mixed media, young artists will stretch their imaginations and discover the joy of creative expression. (Projects in Mini Masterpieces 1 & 2 will be different. Dungeons & Dragons Improv Adventure (Grades 7-12), 9:00am-12:00pm
Dust off your dice, spruce up your spells, and join us for a theater adventure like you’ve never seen before! In this camp, students will sharpen their improv and acting skills by rolling the dice to create characters, fight battles, make allies, and win treasure. Will the heroes complete their quest against the monsters that stand in their way? Only one way to find out! No prior experience with D&D necessary. This camp will give actors the opportunity to craft a story that will culminate in a fantastical live performance at the end of the week.

Animal Art (Gr. K-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Embark on a wild artistic adventure in our Animal Art camp, where your favorite stuffed animal becomes your creative muse! Each day, campers will bring their cherished plush companions to inspire a variety of art projects centered around the animal kingdom. From painting and drawing to crafting jewelry and masks, you'll explore different mediums and techniques to celebrate the creatures you love. From comedy, to fairytales, and everything in between, students will rehearse and act out a myriad of scenes from different plays and skit books! Students will immerse themselves in the creative fusion of cartooning and journaling.Throughout the week, campers will develop their own characters, learn expressive drawing techniques, and craft compelling visual stories by combining illustrations with personal narratives. They'll experiment with various drawing styles and materials, enhancing their artistic versatility. Working alongside fellow young artists, participants will share ideas and inspire each other's creative journeys. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and enthusiasm! Week 3 Full Day Camps
Show-in-a-Week: Dramatic Acts (Grades 7-12) 9:00am-4:00pm
In this camp, students will be cast in several one-act dramatic plays that are both relatable and poignant. Each of these plays will feature themes such as: the struggles of gossip and bullying, anxiety, peer pressure, fitting in, etc. Students will grow in their dramatic acting skills, learning to harness deeper emotions and portray impactful characters. The camp will conclude with a full-length performance, complete with stage lights and props, on the final day!

Every-body wants to be a CAT! Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens are in trouble after the greedy butler pulls off a catnap caper! Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day.
During the week we will cast, choreograph, and learn the entire musical!
Join us for a week of fun putting on this classic tale from Disney! There will be a performance on the final day to showcase all their hard work.

Mini Fairy Tale Theatre (Grades K-2), 9:00am-12:00pm
Disney princesses, fairytale villains, or even a character from your favorite TV show…In this camp, each student chooses the character they want to play! The instructor will take each character and put them all together in an original play, resulting in a wacky, hilarious, mash-up adventure to perform for family and friends at the end of the week! This camp is specifically for young actors. If they are still learning to read and write but want to join in on the fun, this is the perfect place to get started! (Registration closes early to allow time for script-writing).

Teen Potters 1 (Grades 6-12), 9:00am-12:00pm
Discover the art of pottery in our camp designed for students in grades 6-12! This engaging camp offers a hands-on experience where participants will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. Campers will create functional and artistic pieces, exploring their creativity under the guidance of experienced instructors. Whether you're a beginner or have prior experience, this camp provides a supportive environment to develop your skills and express your artistic vision. All materials, tools, and firing are provided, and participants should wear clothes that can get messy. (Each unique work of art is functional and food safe: dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe. All pieces will be fired and available for pick up two weeks after the class.)

With pencil, colored pencils, pen, and charcoal, you’ll learn how to shade, sketch, and add awesome details to your artwork. Junior Potters 1 (Gr. K-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Dive into the exciting world of pottery! In this hands-on camp, young artists will explore clay by hand-building, trying out the potter’s wheel to create unique and functional works of art—from cups and mugs to bowls and plates. Campers will grow their skills, experiment with different techniques, and have loads of fun getting their hands messy! Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! All pottery will be fired and ready for pickup at the Arts Center two weeks after camp. Let’s get muddy and make a masterpiece!

Join us as we cast, block, and rehearse this full length classic play, complete with lights, props, and a few costume pieces. The week will conclude with a performance created over the course of the week by the instructor and the students.

Knit-n-Kaboodles Crochet Camp (Grades 6-12), 1:00-4:00pm
Whether you're a total beginner or a crochet pro, this camp will teach you fun techniques, cool patterns, and creative projects to bring your ideas to life. Students will experiment with yarn, colors, and textures while making everything from cozy accessories to adorable amigurumi plushies. With step-by-step guidance and plenty of room for imagination, you’ll gain the skills to crochet with confidence and create unique handmade treasures. All supplies are provided.

Pack your imagination and get ready for an art-filled journey across the continents! In this exciting camp, students in grades 1-5 will explore a new part of the world each day, discovering its art, music, and animals through creative hands-on projects. From Japanese kites soaring in the sky to Mexican piñatas bursting with color and West African drums ready to play, campers will bring cultures to life with unique and exciting crafts. As they paint, build, and create, they'll learn about the traditions and stories behind each masterpiece.

Frozen Musical Revue (Grades 2-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Need to cool down this summer? Then join Olaf and Elsa for a FROZEN adventure! During the week, students will learn songs and choreography to some of the most popular songs from Disney’s Frozen the musical! The week will conclude with a performance for family and friends.

Week 7: July 21-25
Week 7 Full Day Camps
OCSAC String Camp 2025 (Ages 5-18), 9:00am-2:00pm
This intensive music camp offers instruction in violin, viola, cello and string bass in an encouraging group environment, with skilled instructors.
Daily class sessions will include orchestra, chamber ensembles, fiddle ensemble and instrument-specific technique classes as well as training in aural skills and music theory, and fun activities such as Orff instruments. The camp period includes a 30-minute daily lunch break (bring your own sack lunch), and 1:00-2:00pm masterclass or student/faculty recital each day, which parents are encouraged to attend. The week will conclude with an all-camp concert on Friday.
Students will be separated into groups by level, and beginner through advanced students are welcome. Beginner students may try a string instrument, and receive recommendations from our experienced faculty for group placement in the Fall. Intermediate & advanced students will benefit from the opportunity to learn from different teachers, meet new friends, and collaborate with their peers on more challenging literature.

-Optional 2:00-4:00 Extended Day Add-On Session: Students will wind down their day with fun, music-themed projects and activities. Appropriate for all ages, instructors will modify activities to fit the needs of the students signed up to participate, and separate into age-appropriate groups if necessary. We don’t talk about Bruno…but we sure do sing about him! Students will have a blast singing and learning choreography to the incredible music from Disney’s Encanto! This camp will be entertaining, as well as helpful for students looking to improve their vocal and dance skills. And at the end of the week, they’ll showcase their performance for friends and family!

Teen Audition Prep (Grades 7-12) 9am-12pm
NEW! In this camp, students will learn the ins-and-outs of how to prepare for theatre auditions. Lessons include: how to properly research a play and its characters, identifying their own personal character “niche”, how to find (or write!) great monologues, general audition practices, leaning into their strong suits in theatre, mock auditions, and more!

The game’s afoot! In this mystery-themed class, students will improve their acting skills as they perform a variety of suspenseful and silly skits, featuring Scooby Doo, Sherlock Holmes, and more. Families are invited to a performance at the end of the week, where they can put their own sleuthing skills to the test!

Improv Camp (Gr. 8-12), 1:00-4:00pm
Improvisation is a crucial skill to have in live theatre performance. You never know when a prop will disappear, or someone misses a cue! It’s unplanned moments like these that put an actor’s improvisational ability to the test. In this engaging summer camp, students will learn new improv games each day, and act out hilarious scenarios and madcap characters! They will also learn the fundamentals that make an improv scene interesting and effective. And of course, this camp will conclude with a live improv performance, complete with audience suggestions!

Week 8 Full Day Camps
Show-in-a-Week: Melodrama Mayhem (Grades 7-12) 9:00am-4:00pm
We’ve all seen those classic comedic dramas with the dastardly mustachioed villain tying a woman to the train tracks...Or the sheriff putting his gunslinging to the test at high noon! What happens when the characters in a comedy believe they’re in a drama? From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

LaPS Leadership Summer String Intensive 10:00am-2:00pm
Students will receive intensive training in: Audition preparation, solo, chamber music, and chamber orchestra performance. Masterclasses and student performances will be offered daily. All ages of string students accepted. Recommendation is for students to be Suzuki book 5 level or higher and to have a private teacher recommendation. Scholarship applications accepted. (Contact the office to request an application). In addition to OCSAC Strings Faculty, students will have the opportunity to learn from guest artists from the Louisville Orchestra and NouLou Chamber Players *Advanced students who register for both strings camps (July 21-Aug. 1) will receive a discount for the 2-week combination.

Fairy Tale Theatre (Grades 3-6) 9:00am-12:00pm
Moana, Sebastian, Olaf, or even the Big Bad Wolf or Batman! In this camp, each student chooses which character they’ll play! The instructor will take each character and put them all together in an original play, resulting in a wacky, hilarious melting pot adventure! Don’t miss your chance to play your favorite princess, villain, hero, or even a classic character from old story books..the choice is YOURS! This class will have a fun-filled performance on the last day of camp. (Registration closes early for script-writing).

Junior Potters 2 (Grades K-5), 9:00am-12:00pm
Dive into the exciting world of pottery! In this hands-on camp, young artists will explore clay by hand-building and trying out the potter’s wheel to create unique and functional works of art—from cups and mugs to bowls and plates. Campers will grow their skills, experiment with different techniques, and have loads of fun getting their hands messy! Best of all, their finished pieces will be food-safe (dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator safe), making them perfect for everyday use. Beginner and experienced potters are welcome! All pottery will be fired and ready for pickup at the Arts Center two weeks after camp. Let’s get muddy and make a masterpiece!

Rock Band Camp (ages 8-14), 1:00-4:00pm
Rock instruments, vocals, songwriting, album covers, poster and t-shirt design! An action-packed week for the budding "rocker." No previous experience necessary. Bring your own guitar or bass or we provide keyboard or drums. Led by Arts Center faculty in a friendly atmosphere where students play in a band, learn and write songs, design their own promotional materials, and perform in an All Camp Jam Concert on the final day.

Join Max on his search for the Arts Center’s most talented performers through the musical stylings of SING! The movie. Songs like “I’m Still Standing,” “Shake it Off” and “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” tell the stories of our characters and the hard work and determination it takes to reach the top.
