- Attire for theatre camps is clothing in which students can move/dance easily (no Crocs, flip-flops, high heels, etc.). Jazz shoes are highly recommended for musical theatre camps.
- Costume pieces and props are provided for theatre camps, but students may opt to bring their own (camp instructors will provide more information).
- Most theatre camps conclude with a demo performance on Friday at the end of the camp time. You will receive an email by Wednesday of the camp week with the performance time.

Show in a Week: Murder Mystery Play (Grades 6-9), 9:00am-4:00pm
Mystery, murder, and mayhem await you in this week-long theatre production! During the week, students will audition for roles, and be cast in a full-length mystery play! The play will be selected based on the number of sign-ups, guaranteeing everyone has a good role. Will you be a detective, an innocent bystander, a suspect, or perhaps the villain? Join us for this exciting show-in-a-week, which will conclude with a thrilling performance on the final day of camp!

Show in a Week: Madagascar, Kids (Grades 2-5), 9:00am-4:00pm
Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar follows all of your favorite friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Week concludes with a performance for family and friends.

Storybook Scenes (Grades 2-5), 9:00am-12:00pm
Do you love famous fairy tale stories like the 3 Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, and Hansel and Gretel? Then join us for a fantastic week of acting out scenes from a handful of classic tales! Students will grow in their acting abilities, and have a great time doing it. And of course there will be a performance on the final day of camp to showcase their “storybook scenes”!

Junior Musical Theatre Workshop (Grades 6-8), 1:00-4:00pm
This camp has a bit of everything! Students will work on and perform a 1 minute cut of a solo piece, a group musical theater number, and a few scenes…all from popular Broadway musicals! With everything they learn throughout the week, students will gain confidence in their presence on stage.

Dungeons & Dragons Improv Adventure (Grades 7-12), 9:00am-12:00pm
Dust off your dice, spruce up your spells, and join us for a theater adventure like you’ve never seen before! In this camp, students will sharpen their improv and acting skills by rolling the dice to create characters, fight battles, make allies, and win treasure. Will the heroes complete their quest against the monsters that stand in their way? Only one way to find out! No prior experience with D&D necessary. This camp will give actors the opportunity to craft a story that will culminate in a fantastical live performance at the end of the week.

Teen Skits & Scenes (Grades 6-9), 1:00-4:00pm
From comedy, to fairytales, and everything in between, students will rehearse and act out a myriad of scenes from different plays and skit books! There will also be a chance to create their own skit, if they feel so inclined. Join us for a fun week filled with zany characters and scenarios that will keep everyone laughing all week long!

Intro to Musical Theatre (Gr. 2-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Are you looking to give musicals a try, but aren’t sure where to start? This camp is a great place! Kids will learn all about the rules of the stage, making big expressions, projection, etc. all while being taught a few popular musical theatre numbers with song and dance! And of course there will be a performance on the final day of camp for family and friends.

Week 3: June 23-27
Show-in-a-Week: Dramatic Acts (Gr. 7-12), 9:00am-4:00pm
In this camp, students will be cast in several one-act dramatic plays that are both relatable and poignant. Each of these plays will feature themes such as: the struggles of gossip and bullying, anxiety, peer pressure, fitting in, etc. Students will grow in their dramatic acting skills, learning to harness deeper emotions and portray impactful characters. The camp will conclude with a full-length performance, complete with stage lights and props, on the final day!

Show-in-a-Week: Aristocats, Kids (Grades 3-5) 9:00am-4:00pm
Every-body wants to be a CAT! Duchess, a high-society cat, and her three little kittens are in trouble after the greedy butler pulls off a catnap caper! Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day. During the week we will cast, choreograph, and learn the entire musical! Join us for a week of fun putting on this classic tale from Disney! There will be a performance on the final day to showcase all their hard work.

Mini Fairy Tale Theatre (Grades K-2), 9:00am-12:00pm
Disney princesses, fairytale villains, or even a character from your favorite TV show…In this camp, each student chooses the character they want to play! The instructor will take each character and put them all together in an original play, resulting in a wacky, hilarious, mash-up adventure to perform for family and friends at the end of the week! This camp is specifically for young actors. If they are still learning to read and write but want to join in on the fun, this is the perfect place to get started! (Registration closes early to allow time for script-writing).

Broadway Hits Musical Revue (Grades 6-9) 1:00-4:00pm
In this camp, students will learn song and dance numbers from some of the most popular Broadway shows! The Great Gatsby, Something Rotten, and more…you’ll have to join us to find out. Students will have a blast working on their skills to these fun musical numbers, and will perform on the final day of camp.

Around the World Musical Revue (Grades 2-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Join us for a fun musical adventure that takes you around the world and back again! Students will practice performance skills, learn dances, and sing songs inspired by countries across the globe using their favorite Disney musicals. At the end of the week, students will have the opportunity to show what they've learned in an in-class performance for families.

Show-in-a-Week: The Wizard of Oz (Grades 6-12), 9:00am-4:00pm
Dorothy, Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Man are taking a journey to the magical land of Oz…hopefully they don’t run into the Wicked Witch along the way! Join us as we cast, block, and rehearse this full length classic play, complete with lights, props, and a few costume pieces. And of course, we’ll perform the play for family and friends on the final day of camp! (Please note, this is the non-musical version).

Songs & Sweets: A Musical Revue With a Sweet Tooth (Grades K-2), 9:00am-12:00pm
Students will dance and sing to sugary candy-themed songs from various musicals and perform their “candy creation” at the end of the week for friends and family. This camp is a great way to start young performers in musical theater!

A Week of Myths & Legends (Gr. 2-5), 9:00am-12:00pm
Heroes, giants, and tricksters galore! In this camp, students will dive into the world of mythology and folktales from around the globe. Actors will learn how to project, express, memorize, and create BIG characters with BIG personalities! This camp is perfect for fans of Hercules, Aladdin, or even Mulan! A legendary performance will be given for family and friends at the end of the week.

Frozen Musical Revue (Grades 2-5), 1:00-4:00pm
Need to cool down this summer? Then join Olaf and Elsa for a FROZEN adventure! During the week, students will learn songs and choreography to some of the most popular songs from Disney’s Frozen the musical! The week will conclude with a performance for family and friends.

Week 7: July 21-25
Encanto Musical Revue (Grades 3-6), 9:00am-12:00pm
We don’t talk about Bruno…but we sure do sing about him! Students will have a blast singing and learning choreography to the incredible music from Disney’s Encanto! This camp will be entertaining, as well as helpful for students looking to improve their vocal and dance skills. And at the end of the week, they’ll showcase their performance for friends and family!

Teen Audition Prep (Grades 7-12) 9am-12pm
NEW! In this camp, students will learn the ins-and-outs of how to prepare for theatre auditions. Lessons include: how to properly research a play and its characters, identifying their own personal character “niche”, how to find (or write!) great monologues, general audition practices, leaning into their strong suits in theatre, mock auditions, and more!

Jeepers! Kids' Mystery Theatre (Grades 3-6), 1:00-4:00pm
The game’s afoot! In this mystery-themed class, students will improve their acting skills as they perform a variety of suspenseful and silly skits, featuring Scooby Doo, Sherlock Holmes, and more. Families are invited to a performance at the end of the week, where they can put their own sleuthing skills to the test!

Improv Camp (Gr. 8-12), 1:00-4:00pm
Improvisation is a crucial skill to have in live theatre performance. You never know when a prop will disappear, or someone misses a cue! It’s unplanned moments like these that put an actor’s improvisational ability to the test. In this engaging summer camp, students will learn new improv games each day, and act out hilarious scenarios and madcap characters! They will also learn the fundamentals that make an improv scene interesting and effective. And of course, this camp will conclude with a live improv performance, complete with audience suggestions!

Do you love the enchanting stories, songs, and magical characters in the Disney Kingdom? Then this camp is perfect for you! Students will spend the week learning and rehearsing some of their favorite Disney musical numbers, and students will perform their spectacular show on the final day of class!

Show-in-a-Week: Melodrama Mayhem (Grades 7-12) 9:00am-4:00pm
We’ve all seen those classic comedic dramas with the dastardly mustachioed villain tying a woman to the train tracks...Or the sheriff putting his gunslinging to the test at high noon! What happens when the characters in a comedy believe they’re in a drama? From damsels in distress to calculating criminals to haphazard heroines, melodramas offer a spectrum of wacky personalities, whose greatest fear is ACME dynamite and the occasional falling piano! In this camp, the instructor will select a hilarious Melodramatic play for students to star in! We will ultimately perform a full length play for family and friends on the final day…complete with lights, sound effects, props, and a few costume pieces!

Join Max on his search for the Arts Center’s most talented performers through the musical stylings of SING! The movie. Songs like “I’m Still Standing,” “Shake it Off” and “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” tell the stories of our characters and the hard work and determination it takes to reach the top.
