Oldham County Performance Troupe (OCPT)
OCPT is a pre-professional program comprised of students ages 10-18. Courses are designed to prepare students to be "triple threats" (dancing, singing and acting) at the collegiate and/or professional level. OCPT students take weekly classes in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre dance and acrobatics and participate in group rehearsals. The time commitment ranges from 3 - 7 hours in a typical week, depending on age and experience level. The troupe is a serious commitment due to the intense focus of the program. A limited number of students are selected each year through an audition process in August.
To request an individual audition mid-school year, please contact the Arts Center office.
Audition requirements: Students should wear dance attire (leotard and tights for girls, t-shirt/tank and dance shorts or athletic pants for--- boys), and bring all dance shoes that they have (ballet, tap, jazz) for the dance part of the audition.
Auditionees should also come prepared to sing a Broadway showtune of their choice, with an accompaniment track on their phone (no background vocals).
