This FREE Arts for All Kentucky grant-funded Side by Side program is designed to offer a creative outlet for students with disabilities, reinforce inclusiveness and positive self-image, and highlight the importance of arts education in the development of our youth. This year’s program will be a series of four classes focusing on 2D and 3D techniques, exploring nature. Students will have the opportunity to work with clay, glaze, paper, and paint. We will finish our classes with a gallery exhibit for friends and family on February 25, 2024 at 7pm. Each student will be paired with a local artist, with whom they will work side by side to create a collaborative work of art.
This program is made possible through a partnership with Arts for All Kentucky, a non-profit organization that provides accessible arts and inclusion programs for children with disabilities with funding from the WHAS Crusade for Children and the Kentucky Department of Education Office of Special Education and Early Learning. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides funds to Arts for All Kentucky with federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
